Terms of Use

These conditions govern use of Johnson County Criminal History. Accessing a page, reading its content, or submitting a search means the visitor agrees to these terms. Anyone who does not agree should stop using the site.

NO FCRA USE. Johnson County Criminal History is privately owned and has no connection to a local, Kentucky, or federal government body. The site and its advertising partners do not offer services for credit, employment, insurance, tenant, or other decisions regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). This resource only helps visitors locate criminal-record sources in Johnson County, Kentucky. It is neither a private investigation firm nor a consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This private reference site operates independently of government. It does not store official records, retrieve them, perform official checks, or submit documents for a visitor.

Its function is to identify Johnson County custodians, including the Sheriff, the Circuit Court Clerk, Kentucky State Police, and the Kentucky State Police Sex Offender Registry, while also connecting visitors to optional outside research tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

By using the site, a visitor agrees not to:

  • Use site content for a hiring, housing, credit, or insurance decision
  • Violate a local, Kentucky, or federal law through the site
  • Threaten, stalk, or harass a person using information found here
  • Use bots, scrapers, or other automated collection tools on these pages
  • Attempt unauthorized access to any site system
  • Disrupt service or interfere with another visitor's access

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

No visitor may use site content or linked-tool information to harass, stalk, intimidate, threaten, or discriminate against anyone. Such conduct may also violate law. Kentucky's registry framework in KRS 17.500 through 17.580, with related penalties in KRS 17.991, governs the Kentucky State Police Sex Offender Registry. Registry information supports public safety awareness. It is not permission for vigilantism, employment blacklisting, or housing discrimination.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

Johnson County Criminal History is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and does not create background checks, credit reports, or any other consumer report. Its advertising partners do not offer site services for applicant screening, rental review, insurance pricing, or credit evaluation. Site or linked-tool data must not be used to:

  • Set an insurance premium or assess creditworthiness
  • Make a hiring or termination decision
  • Evaluate a renter or housing applicant
  • Decide eligibility for a license, permit, or government program
  • Carry out any other FCRA-regulated purpose

A person who needs a report for a regulated purpose must use an appropriate official channel or an FCRA-compliant screening provider.

5. No Legal Advice

Site content is not legal advice. General explanations of Johnson County records cannot determine how a charge, conviction, warrant, or expungement rule affects a particular matter. A licensed Kentucky attorney should address those questions.

6. No Warranties

All site content and functions are provided "as is." No guarantee is made that:

  • Site or partner results are complete, accurate, or current
  • Pages contain no bugs, errors, or security weaknesses
  • The site will remain continuously available
  • An outside search service will return a complete or correct match

Charges, dispositions, sealing, and expungement can change an official record. Gaps or stale information may therefore occur. Nothing published here is an official statement of the Johnson County courts, Sheriff, or any Kentucky agency.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links may lead to sheriff pages, court portals, Kentucky agencies, legal resources, or outside search services. The destination is independent and beyond this site's control. Johnson County Criminal History is not responsible for its content, privacy practices, price, or availability. Review the destination's own terms before use.

8. Intellectual Property

Johnson County Criminal History or its content partners own the site's text, graphics, logos, and code. No one may copy, distribute, adapt, or create derivative material from that content without prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Johnson County Criminal History is not liable for damages arising from site use, including reliance on information obtained here or through an external service.

10. Indemnification

A visitor agrees to indemnify and hold the site harmless from claims, proceedings, or demands caused by that visitor's use of the site or breach of these terms, including related legal fees and costs.

11. Governing Law

Kentucky law governs these terms. Any dispute tied to site use must be brought in a court located in Kentucky. The Kentucky Open Records Act, KRS 61.870 through 61.884, governs public agencies and does not make this private site a government custodian.

12. Changes to These Terms

The site may revise these terms at any time. A revision takes effect when the updated text is posted on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be restricted or terminated at any time, for any reason, without advance notice.

14. Severability

If a court finds one provision invalid or unenforceable, all remaining provisions continue in effect. The affected language will be narrowed only as much as needed to make it enforceable.

15. Questions

Questions about these conditions may be directed through the site's Contact page.
