Search Queries
A name or location entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside company that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies the results. Johnson County Criminal History does not retain or log those search terms on its own systems.

An email or other direct message may be kept long enough to respond and maintain the related correspondence. It remains within the site team unless disclosure is required by law.

No Criminal-Record Data on File
Johnson County Criminal History does not maintain, compile, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes general directions to official custodians, including the Johnson County Sheriff, the Circuit Court Clerk, Kentucky State Police, and the Kentucky State Police Sex Offender Registry. The site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor data is not assembled into a consumer report or a record about another person.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the site's search boxes. Information submitted through one of those tools is governed by that provider's privacy policy rather than this policy. Each provider decides how long it keeps data and when it shares data, so its terms should be reviewed before a query is submitted.

Links may lead to the Johnson County Sheriff's site, Kentucky court portals, state agencies, legal resources, or outside search services. Once a visitor follows an external link, the destination's privacy policy controls. Review it before providing personal information.
Some advertising companies may track activity across websites to select ads. That processing occurs through the advertiser's systems, not this site's own records.

Kentucky's Open Records Act, KRS 61.870 through 61.884, governs records held by public agencies and does not turn this private site into a public records custodian. Other state provisions control specific official data: KRS 610.340 protects juvenile material, KRS 17.185 addresses access to one's own KSP history, and KRS 17.530 and 17.580 govern sharing and public display of statutory registry information.
